Around the villa
The villa is located on the border of the Jizera Mountains and the Krkonoše Mountains, on a hillside among greenery. It is therefore an ideal starting point for your trips, sports or cultural experiences. Even children will come to their own, and not only in the snow. In the summer, it is best to be near the water, and our region has a lot to offer you in this direction as well. Therefore, take the places chosen by us only as a sample of the best.
Tanvaldský Špičák
This is the largest ski resort in the Jizera Mountains. It is 5.5 km away and the driving time is 7-10 minutes. It also offers night skiing. For me, it is clearly the most popular area for skiing in the Czech Republic. Of course, it cannot be compared to Italy, where I like to go. The ski resort offers all types of pistes, blue, red and black. An anchor, poma, and a luxurious chair lift will take you to the top, on which you can relax. For complete beginners, there is also a ski school, as well as a rental shop, ski service, refreshments and everything else related to winter sports. At the same time, I don’t really recommend it for complete beginners, because it is more expensive than, say, another resort where you can learn to ski great at much lower prices.
Světlý vrh
Super small ski area at the very top of Albrechtice in the Jizera Mountains. Driving time 5 min and 3.5KM. I can highly recommend it for beginners and for learning to ski. This resort saved our necks during the bad times of Covid, when everything, including the ski resorts, was closed, so that I could continue learning his skiing skills with my son. Although the lifts weren’t running, the lifters took us and a few other enthusiasts up either by scooter or by snowmobile. The son was excited because they willingly explained the technical parameters to him, he sat in the cabin in the scooter and I “flew” behind the scooter or the scooter on a rope. So a great experience. They were really incredibly kind and helpful. I don’t know to what extent it could be due to the situation where they needed every crown, or they are still like that even in a completely full and unmarked season. I lean towards the second option and can only recommend it. The ski area also offers evening skiing. Refreshments on site.
Severák
It is about 13 km and a 20-minute drive away. This ski area is an ideal place for learning to ski, but also for parents who want to go for a little ride when they have a moment of peace from their children, because the ski instructor is struggling with them. The area here does not have a black (hardest) slope. I personally learned to ski here and have nothing but beautiful memories of this area. Rental, service, instructors, refreshments, etc. is also on point.
Harrachov
Distance 20km and 40min drive. Few doubt that the Krkonoše Mountains have the best slopes in the Czech Republic. Anyone who would like to go all the way to see it will definitely not be fooled. All pistes of difficulty are available. All conceivable and unimaginable services are available.
Jizerská magistrála
The Jizera highway in the central part of the Jizera Mountains is one of the most visited areas for cross-country skiing in the Czech Republic. A huge advantage is that the running tracks are regularly stretched and groomed. The length of the groomed tracks is around 180 km. One of the biggest starting places is Bedřichov, other places are e.g. Smědava, Jizerka, Horní Polubný, Souš or Hrabětice dam. Every year in January, the most famous Czech ski race Jizerská 50 takes place in the area of the Jizerská magistrály, with the start and finish in Bedřichov.
Single track – Nové město pod Smrkem
Distance approx. 35 km and driving time 75 minutes. I can only recommend it for lovers of adrenaline riding. Singltrek pod Smrkem is a famous paradise of trails for mountain bikes. More than 60 kilometers of great trails await you, on which both families with small children and experienced bikers have fun. The main boarding point is located on the beach of a beautiful natural swimming pool. You will find everything you need at the base camp. Refreshments, a well-equipped bicycle shop, a rental shop that also lends you e-bikes.
Sport centrum Jablonec
There is a whole range of sports activities here. For example, swimming pool, sauna, badminton, gym, solarium, various attractions, etc. All info on the website. Distance approx. 14 km and a 20-minute drive.
Centrum Babylon Liberec
Probably the largest entertainment complex in the north of Bohemia. I definitely recommend visiting. Inside you have everything you can think of. Thematic water park – pools, slides, water slides, wild river, etc. Lunapark – covered area for children and adults with year-round operation. Bowling – Fun in the original environment of the American 1950s Laser game – Fun fight with vests with electronic sensors for registering hits iQ park – The first entertainment and educational center in the Czech Republic Labyrinth – The largest mirror museum in Europe XS Theater – The most modern technology of 4D simulators Wellness center – Solno Iodine Cave – Covered shopping town
Distance 25KM and 30 minutes drive.
Bobsleigh track Janov nad Nisou
I can highly recommend. Definitely the cheapest option in the wider area. I’ve been there countless times with my son and it’s great. Trampolines are an option for further relaxation. Restaurant right next to the track.
